the sheriff adding as far as he is concerned, that police officer is a hero. now a little bit about where we are. hesston is a community of 3700. it seems like everyone knows someone who works at excel, so as word came out about the shooting, a lot of people came here searching for answers about loved ones. really gut wrenching stuff. now this is what we know about the suspect. according to a federal law enforcement source, 38-year-old cedric ford is being investigated as the shooter. the ceo confirms he did work at excel as a painter. now there are several different crime scenes here. the sheriff laid out a timeline, saying from the first shooting call to what happened here. it all played out in under 30 minutes. now hesston is a town changed forever. i' m eli rosenberg in hesston, now back to you. lisa: stay on top of this story throughout the morning, both on air and on the wlwt mobile app. happening today, the man charged

mother is expected in court. mark: dayton police arrested 34-year-old brandon carr earlier this week. he is accused of shooting and killing brittany russell. dayton police found her body two weeks ago inside a parked car. russell' s six month old baby girl was in the backseat and she was not hurt. carr will be arraigned this afternoon. lisa: new information about the investigation into the cincinnati va hospital and the claims of mismanagement. the department of veterans affairs is taking action against two top leaders after its investigation. the va says the director of ohio' s regional network, jack hetrick, is retiring after his proposed removal. while the acting chief of staff of the cincinnati va hospital dr. barbara temeck has been , suspended from her current duties pending further action. within minutes of the announcement, ohio congressman brad wenstrup, who serves on the house committee on veterans affairs, said veterans are thankful that the department of veterans affairs acted to dismiss a leader who has lost the trust of those he serves. mark: reforming the cincinnati
